Your backyard is your dojo, your temple, the perfect place to relax and enjoy alone or in the company of your friends and family. A great option for your outdoor space is to add a PVC deck to provide you with the perfect space to rest, sunbathe, or lounge for hours on a deck chair.

Here are some tips to help you decide on the best place to put your new PVC deck:

Elevation is key

You must raise the deck no less than 15 cm from the natural floor or subfloor and support it with slats that allow proper ventilation of the wooden support slats.

Respect the drainage slopes of your PVC deck

If a deck does not have the minimum slope required for water to drain properly water accumulation may occur.

Choose the right protectant

To properly protect your deck from the elements, we recommend you use a product specially designed for that purpose, that also provides abrasion protection.

To coat or not to coat your PVC deck

All deck parts (support slats, nailing slats, exposed slats) must be preserved and protected using your product of choice with at least one coat, but preferably with two coats, before assembly. That way areas which may be difficult to access once fully installed will still be protected.

Modular is the way to go

Consider assembling the deck in sections so that you may remove and lift them for maintenance.
